Trailing in the drag position behind a herd of Longhorns, she learns about dust, tedium, storms, and stampedes.
But none that is as hard as keeping her secret from a young cattle drover.

Carrol's Bio
Carrol Haushalter has a real connection with children and that is why her books have touched their hearts and minds.
She has taken children on a western adventure as she tells the story of a young girl and boy who meet on a trail ride moving a herd of longhorns from Texas to New Mexico. The story unfolded in Trail from yesterday and Trail to tomorrow and will soon culminate in the third installment of this thrilling trilogy Trails End.
Carrol's books have an exciting realism to them and so they should. She was told of the real life story of her Great-Grandparent's trail ride from Texas to New Mexico as part of a cattle drive and Carrol rode her own horse on that trail to complete her research for her books.
When not writing or entertaining children in her cowgirl regalla, Carrol can be found on a small farm in Mulino, Oregon with her husband and a number of goats, chickens, and dog. Her creativity is inspired by her rural environment and the adventures she experiences in this truly western community.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Here we are, once again, to start off a New Year and a New Book.
A story about a 15 year-old-girl and her 17 year-old-brother who went through great tragedy in the loss of family. Then found themselves at the mercy of Bandits in the Southern Plateau of Texas,
at time when Outlaws ran amuck and survival was in the hands of the beholder.
This story is aimed toward: Young Adult to Adult.

Opening ceremony
My husband and a friend from Church and I at the Opening Ceremony for Habitat for Humanities for Charley and Becky's new home in Molalla, Oregon.
Habitat for Humanities-Molalla, OR.
A wonderful little family is getting a new house. Charley and Becky have a 3-year-old son. They will be getting their first house through Habitat for Humanities. It is a wonderful program. The workers are all volunteers. I will be one of the volunteers in August 2012.
Charley and Becky are super happy (to say the least). Their little boy will have a nice home to grow up in in a quiet neighborhood. So very happy for them.

Summer horse ride
Getting my horse-fix. Riding through the Aspen Trees in the Rocky Mountains outside of Leadville, Colorado. This is what my husband and I did for the Fourth of July. Fun time!

SPRING FLING
This last weekend we had an event called: Spring Fling. It is a time when venders set up in the park, in the town of Molalla, and peddle their wares. I was their at the Author's Table peddling my books along with everyone else. Saturday was the best day. No rain, not too cold, and we had sun. Around these parts, SUN is a blessing. There was music and dancing. People went from booth to booth. Some purchased stuff from vendors, but some of the people just chatted with everyone. Most of the vendors I only see at events, so this was a good time to catch up with all that has gone on in their lives since we last met. On Sunday, the rain came, we all said good-bye at the end of the day and planned on the next event where we will meet again.
It is always good to sell my books and to get positive feedback from those who have read my books. It is also great to visit with all.
Molalla is a town of supporting and caring people. That is why I love it here so much. I love them all and I know they love me back.
